Alan Moore won the coveted Park Manager of the Year award at Wyldecrest Parks annual conference and training day. Hard working Alan was presented with a Gong and a cheque for £500 for his unstinting work at Radcliffe Park, Nottingham, and everything he has done helping residents. He just pipped newly promoted Scotland Area Sales Manager Ann-Marie Hardy at St Cyrus who was runner-up and was presented with a cheque for £250. Alan said:"I'm absolutely speechless, I'd just like to thank everyone who voted for me." Human Resources Manager Lys-Anne Sollitt was named Employee of the Year for her dedication and hard work for the company at head office. Blueleighs Park's Sheila and Jim Lakkides won the outstanding achievement award, Len Smith of Bockenfield Country Park won the Exceptional Service Award, Peter Thompson won the Sales Area Manager of the Year award and Bryn Gynog Park won the Residents Association Award.

Wyldecrest Parks have stepped in to prevent residents being  harassed on Elmstead Park.

A Residential Property Tribunal found that Stuart Mills breached the terms of his Mobile Home Act by causing a nuisance, annoyance and disturbance on the park.

Mr Douglas Agnew, chairman, said:"It is to be hoped that the finding of this Tribunal will be a shot across the bows of the Respondent and act as a warning that he cannot let his attitude towards the site owner which appears to be something of a crusade and obsession cross the line from acceptable to unacceptable behaviour."

The Tribunal heard that Mr  Mills, who is chairman of the residents association,  harried Mr and Mrs Holmes and tried to persuade them not to buy on the park, worrying them  about planning status, which constituted a nuisance or annoyance to them. When the Holmes' told Mr Mills they were not interested he put a note through their door and continued to try and contact them.

    The Tribunal also heard that he caused distress to Mrs Anne Walter, the park manager, by circulating a letter which suggested she was not a fit and proper person and later threatening her with libel proceedings.

     Mistaking area sales manager Patrick Johnson as a visitor, Mr Mills falsely claimed:"If your mum and dad are looking to buy there they shouldn't as the council are going mad about it and are going to rip up the bases. Also there is a public footpath going right through that base."

     Mr Agnew added:"In finding that the respondent has been in breach of the said clause, the Tribunal has not considered that the matters complained of were of such a minor nature but were more serious, particularly with regard to the treatment of Mrs Walters and the persistence with which the respondent harried the Holmes', justifying the finding of breach. As chairman of a recognized residents association the respondent must be permitted to raise legitimate concerns of the residents and to stand up for their interests but there are ways and means of doing this and the respondent needs to take care of what he does and says in so doing…It is to be hoped, for the benefit of all concerned with Elmstead Park that more harmonious relationships will be forged going forward."

Nigel Bond won the Wyldecrest Park Homes World Seniors Championship without conceding a frame in his four matches at the Mountbatten Centre in Portsmouth.

Bond, from Derby, who still plays on the main tour and is ranked 45 in the world, beat Welshman Tony Chappel 2-0 in the best-of-three final having seen off Dennis Taylor, Tony Knowles and last year's winner Darren Morgan en route to the final.

Both finalists had come through qualifying to claim their place in the tournament and former World Championship finalist Bond took a close first frame 68-54 after both players missed opportunities to take a 1-0 lead by potting the black.

The second frame was more one-sided with breaks of 33 and 28 helping Bond to take it 66-4 and claim the £18,000 prize money.

"It is a great feeling," he said on collecting his trophy. "It has been a great weekend, all of the players have enjoyed it.

"I think I played a bit scrappy yesterday and only really got going in the second frame against Chappel but then I felt I got into a nice rhythm. I was playing great on the practice table but sometimes it is not always easy to put it out there on the match table."

Runner-up Chappel conceded the best player won. "I have really enjoyed it and I have got further than I expected to get," he said. "The better man definitely won. Nigel is a tour player and you could see on the table that he was playing like one and looked like one, and that was the difference."
